Create Split Sessions in the Dashboard

Overview

The dashboard lets you manually create a split session and generate a shareable payment link.

This is the best option for merchants who want to create split sessions themselves and send the link directly to customers through email, chat, SMS, or any other channel.

How It Works

When you create a split session in the dashboard, FairShare generates a session link that you can share with contributors.

You can then track the session, monitor contributions, and follow its progress directly from the dashboard.

Creating a Split Session

To create a split session in the dashboard, go to the split sessions section and click Create Split Session.

You will be asked to enter the session details, including:

• Split type
• Session title
• Currency
• Expiry minutes
• Total amount
• Item details, if required by the selected split type

Environment

The Environment field shows which environment the split session is being created in.

This value cannot be changed from the split session form. It reflects the environment you are currently using in the dashboard.

For example:

• If your dashboard is currently in Sandbox, the split session will be created in sandbox
• If your dashboard is currently in Live, the split session will be created in live

Split Types

When creating a session in the dashboard, you can choose from three split types:

Split Type	Description
Pick Items	Contributors select the items they want and pay for the total of what they picked.
Flexible Amount	Contributors can pay any amount they want toward the total, with an optional minimum contribution.
Split Evenly	The total is divided equally across a fixed number of contributors.

Items

For item-based sessions, you can add the items that contributors will choose from.

Each item can include:

• Item ID
• Description
• Price
• Quantity
• Image URL

For Pick Items, item details are required because contributors pay based on the items they select.

After Creation

Once the split session is created, FairShare generates a shareable session link.

You can send this link directly to customers and track the session from the dashboard as contributions come in.

• Want to manually create split sessions

• Do not need direct API-based session creation
• Want a simple no-code workflow
