Account Setup
To get started, go to merchant.fairsharepay.com/signup and create your FairShare merchant account.
During signup, you will be asked to provide basic business information such as your company name, phone number, country, and preferred currency. Once your account is created, you will have access to the FairShare dashboard.
The FairShare dashboard gives you a central place to manage your split payment activity. From there, you can:
- Create and manage split sessions
- Track session status and contributor activity
- Monitor payment volume
- Review transaction progress across your account
Connect Your Payment Provider
Before you can start processing payments, connect a payment provider in the Integrations section of the dashboard at merchant.fairsharepay.com/integrations.
FairShare supports two main ways to connect a payment provider.
1. OAuth
OAuth is the simplest connection method when supported by the provider. Click Connect in the dashboard and complete the provider's onboarding flow.
When using OAuth, onboard the account that matches the environment you are currently in:
- In Sandbox, connect your provider's sandbox/test account
- In Live, connect your provider's live/production account
Sandbox and live environments are separate, so connecting a provider in sandbox does not automatically connect it in live.
For more details on how environments work, see Sandbox vs Live.
Once completed, your account will be linked and ready for use in that environment.
2. API Keys
Some providers require manual setup using API credentials. In this case, enter the required API keys so FairShare can securely route transactions through your payment provider.
For more details on how environment-specific credentials work, see Sandbox vs Live.
Start in Sandbox Mode
Start in sandbox mode so you can test your setup before going live.
If you are just trying out the platform, connecting Stripe is usually the easiest option because you can quickly use a test account and begin experimenting without a full production setup.
Once your payment provider is connected, you can begin creating test split sessions and exploring the FairShare workflow from the dashboard.
Before switching to production, make sure you understand the difference between test and real payment environments in Sandbox vs Live.
